Abstract: Zinc concentrate and iron concentrate were obtained by floatation followed by magnetization in a concentrator of a zinc-iron mine. The zinc grade of tailings was 1.36% ,the sulfur grade was 2.40%,and -200 mesh was accounting for 39.82%. The main zinc-bearing and sulfur-bearing minerals were sphalerite and pyrite, and has been dissociated in monomer. In order to recover the useful components, like zinc and sulfur efficiently, the mineral processing test was carried out. The results showed that the in-situ tailings samples are treated with one roughing, two cleaning and one scavenging process for zinc separation and one roughing and one cleaning process for sulfur separation. Finally, zinc concentrate with Zn grade of 43.18%,Zn recovery rate of 88.25% ,S grade of 29.25%,S recovery rate of 37.68% and sul⁃ fur concentrate with S grade of 42.15% and S recovery rate of 48.26% could be obtained.
