Abstract: The basic situations of Hunan nonferrous metal industry are analysed in detail. According to the characteristics of Hunan nonferrous metal industry such as unreasonable industrial structure, low degree of intensive industry, weak innovation ability, low level of international operation, some sustainable development strategies are proposed from the perspective of upgrading the industrial structure, technology, progress of science and technology, cultivation of talents, development of strategic emerging industry, comprehensive utilization of resources, regenerated metal recycling, environmental protection.
