In order to rationally develop and utilize a high-sulfur iron ore in Guangdong,aiming at the problem that the sulfur content of iron concentrate exceeds the standard and is difficult to sell,based on the study of ore properties,a comparative exploration test of three process schemes of stage grinding-stage magnetic separation,flotation-magnetic separation-flotation,magnetic separation-flotation-magnetic sepa⁃ ration is carried out. The test results show that the magnetic separation-flotation-magnetic separation pro⁃ cess has the best desulfurization effect on the high-sulfur iron ore. Magnetic products and non-magnetic products can be obtained by low intensity magnetic separation under the condition of first -stage grinding fineness of -0.074 mm 65% and magnetic field strength of 80 kA/m. The magnetic product is reground to - 0.045 mm 90%,the dosage of new activator X was fixed at 3 000 g/t,the dosage of collector butyl xanthate is 90 g/t,and the dosage of foaming agent 2# oil is 60 g/t. The pyrite is removed by one roughing and one scavenging reverse flotation,and the scavenging tailings are subjected to low intensity magnetic separation under the condition of magnetic field strength of 80 kA/m. Finally,a qualified iron concentrate with iron grade of64.88%,sulfur content of0.42% and total iron recovery of50.68% was obtained.
