Abstract: To realize the resource utilization of the iron tailings of an ultra-poor vanadium titanium magnetite in Chengde area, the detailed process mineralogy analysis and systematic recovery of valuable ele‐ ments were carried out by taking representative tailings samples. The results showed that the useful elements were phosphorus and titanium, and the grade of P2O5 and TiO2 were 1.52% and 1.91%,respectively. The valuable minerals include apatite, ilmenite, rutile, and sphene. The fine dissemination size of the valuable minerals and the easy sliming of silicate minerals are the main factors affecting the recovery of phosphorus and titanium. When the grinding fineness is - 74 μm 53%, the phosphate concentrate with P2O5 grade of 30.10% and P2O5 recovery of 87.61% was obtained by using sodium carbonate and BK116A as regulator, BK410B as collector. Then, the phosphate tailings were subjected to wet low intensity magnetic separation, wet high intensity magnetic separation, low intensity magnetic rough concentrate and high intensity magnetic rough concentrate combined and reground, then via wet low intensity magnetic separation and shaking table cleaning, and the ilmenite concentrate with TiO2 grade of 32.10% and TiO2 recovery of 29.66% was obtained. The research results have guiding significance for the efficient utilization of this kind of ultra-poor vanadi‐ um-titanium magnetite tailings.
