Application of Nano Ceramic Ball and Rubber Magnetic Lining Plate in Complex Multi Metal Ore
Tower Mill
The ore processed of a mineral processing workshop in Dulong mining area of Yunnan Prov⁃
ince is mainly zinc and tin, accompanied by copper, iron, sulfur, indium, silver and other elements. The min⁃
eral symbiotic relationship is complex and the dissemination size is uneven. The concentrator adopts stage
grinding and stage separation process. The first stage grinding is carried out by semi-autogenous grinding +
ball milling SAB process, and the second stage grinding is carried out by tower mill to regrinding the inter⁃
mediate products, which realizes the efficient recovery of polymetallic minerals. The tower mill uses bearing
steel balls and polyurethane liners as grinding media and cylinder liners respectively. There are problems
such as high power consumption of mill operation, high unit consumption of steel balls, difficulty in starting
without load, short service life of liners and difficulty in disassembly and assembly. The application of nano⁃
ceramic balls and rubber magnetic liners in the tower mill of zinc rough concentrate was studied. The con⁃
tent of -37 μm regrinding particle size of zinc rough concentrate reached more than 75%, and the content of
-74 μm reached more than 70% in the tower mill regrinding system of cassiterite secondary concentrate and
cassiterite middling. The grinding effect has been significantly improved. At the same time, the power con⁃
sumption of the mill is 15% and the unit consumption of the medium is significantly reduced. The service
life of the liner is more than 5 times that of the polyurethane liner, and the economic benefit is considerable.
