Abstract: A cyanidation tailings in Colombia contains 50.52% sulfur,1.62% zinc,0.79 g/t gold and 16.1 g/t silver. If it is directly discarded,it will cause waste of metal resources. In order to recover zinc from cyanide tailings,a pretreatment-flotation process was adopted. The pulp was pretreated by Inco method. The concentration of cyanide ion in the pulp was reduced from 0.35 g/L to less than 0.005 g/L,which reduced the influence of cyanide ion on subsequent zinc flotation. After pretreatment of cyanide tailings, under the condition of one roughing, one cleaning and one scavenging for zinc separation, the zinc concentrate containing zinc 40.06%,gold 3.73 g/t,silver 176.90 g/t,zinc recovery 93.42%,gold recovery 3.03% and silver recovery 28.00% was obtained. The comprehensive recovery of valuable metals in cyanide tailings was realized.
