Comparative Experimental Study on Flotation Process of a MicroFine Spodumene

Abstract: The mineral composition of a granite pegmatite spodumene ore is complex and the embedded particle size is fine. In order to find a reasonable beneficiation process,two different beneficiation processes were carried out on the ore. The separation index of lithium concentrate with Li2O grade of 5.64% and lithium metal recovery of 78.10% was obtained by the test. It is concluded that the preferential removal of slime and mica is very beneficial to improve the subsequent spodumene flotation index. For the ore,the stage grinding-rough concentrate regrinding-concentration process is superior to the continuous grindingdesliming- flotation process both in terms of separation index and process structure.
