Abstract: The Huangshandong copper-nickel deposit in Hami City，Xinjiang is located in the Ju⁃ luotage late Paleozoic trench arc belt of the Junggar arc basin system and the Yamasu late Paleozoic island arc belt in Xinjiang. It is a basic-ultrabasic rock type copper-nickel sulfide deposit. At present，the geolog⁃ ical conditions of the deposit are insufficient，which brings inconvenience to the mining design and subse⁃ quent prospecting. By collecting and analyzing the geological data and the actual situation of stratum explo⁃ ration，the deposit geology，ore-forming environment and ore deposit types are analyzed，and the oreforming mechanism map is drawn by MAPGIS software to explain the genetic mechanism of the deposit. The results show that the copper-nickel deposit in Huangshandong belongs to magmatic melting-penetra⁃ tion copper-nickel sulfide deposit，which is rich in nickel ore and has high mining value.
