Abstract: The production system of Gaocun Iron Mine regional of Masteel Mining Resources Group is complicated with many points and wide areas. In order to better protect the environment，the environmen⁃ tal impact and prevention measures were analyzed from four aspects: atmospheric environment，water envi⁃ ronment，noise environment and solid waste environment. It was pointed out that the effect of organized dust emission on the surrounding environment was reduced through water spraying，vehicle speed limiting and soil greening，and the concentration of unorganized waste gas meets the requirements of Emission Stan⁃ dards for Pollutants from Iron Mining and Dressing Industry（GB 28661—2012）. By using the pit water for production，suppressing dust and greening，precipitating and purifying the leaching water of dump，treating domestic sewage by septic tank and sedimentation tank，recycling spray waste water，zero discharge of sewage was achieved in the end. The project noise have no obvious adverse effect on the surrounding envi⁃ ronment by choosing low noise equipment and muffler to reduce vibration and noise，optimizing the decora⁃ tion of main noise source area. strengthening the protection of workers，building green belts for noise reduc⁃ tion，making car not overload，not speeding，not gathering on the road，strengthening the road mainte⁃ nance，making no tooting and welding rail gap，building walls to block noise and other measures. The dust collected by the dust collector and the producted stone powder were sent to the dump for storage，the oilcontaining rags and household garbage were used for sanitary landfill，and the waste oil is entrusted to qualified units for disposal，so that the solid waste of the project will have less impact on the surrounding environment. The pollution prevention and control measures are effective and feasible without obvious adverse environmental impact.
