Abstract: In order to efficiently recycle the valuable element iron in a copper smelting slag with iron grade of 45.20% and magnetic iron content of 32.40%, reduce environmental pollution and improve re⁃ source utilization, based on the study of the properties of the copper smelting slag, the conditions of differ⁃ ent grinding fineness and low intensity magnetic separation process parameters were tested, and the optimal process parameters were determined. The test results show that under the optimal process conditions, an iron concentrate with iron grade of 56.50% and iron recovery of 64.52% can be obtained by using a pre-se⁃ lection tailings discarding-grinding (-0.045 mm 95%) -single low intensity magnetic separation process. The recovery and utilization of the copper smelting tailings are realized, and the economic and environmen⁃ tal benefits are remarkable.
