Facile Preparation of Ag3PO4 and Its Photocatalytic Propreties of Rhodamine B

Abstract: Ag3PO4 visible light photocatalyst was prepared by the precipitation method and using AgNO3 and Na2HPO4.12H2O as raw materials.The visible light photocatalyst property on rhodamine B(RB) was studied. The structure of photocatalyst was characterized by XRD,laser particle sizer and UVVis DRS.The influence of the photocatalytic activity by many factors such as illumination time,the amount of catalyst,RB initial concentration,also adding of malonic acid,ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid,hydrogen peroxide on photocatalytic property was researched.The results shown that when the amount of catalyst Ag3PO4 is 30 mg,the initial concentration of RB is 10 mg/L,hydrogen peroxide dosage is 1 mL,the light photocatalyst effect is the best,the photo-catalytic degradation rate of RB can reach 98.6%. After the addition of hydrogen peroxide,the degradation rate of RB by the Ag3PO4 catalyst increased by about 20 percentage points,and the time for completely degradation was advanced by one third.The degradation rate of RB is significantly reduced when adding malonic acid,ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid,indicating that hydroxyl radicals·OH and holes H+ may be the main active materials of the Ag3PO4 visible light catalyst.
