Abstract: Tailings dam is a structure which pile up metal and nonmetal and other mine beneficiation waste, the quality and dam height has increased rapidly with country's great demanding for mineral resources. Tailing dam situation and two situations of final accumulation elevation height were checked, seepage and static force stability calculation were done at relevant most disadvantageous section position of two conditions. Meanwhile, using two-dimensional finite element to calculate seepage line of sloping surface, dam situation and stable safe factor of after elevation and expansion were analyzed by adopted limit equilibrium method . Calculation results indicated, stable safe factors of dam final accumulation elevation height section were all meet the standard requirement under different calculation condition, which proved the safe and reliable of elevation and expansion scheme of fill dam.
