    The general development trend shows a good prospect though there is some fluctuation in resource market in recent years, and it provides a good chance for the transform and development of the old mines. Because of the history reason, the old mines meet many difficulties during the production and management and continues development. Combined with the production and management of the Shirengou iron mine, it focuses on the strategic measures which were: reasonable exploitation of resource; technological advance of mine and mineral processing; replace outdated process equipment; cycle utilization of wastewater and waste residue; reducing the occupied area furthest to implement environment protection; so it can be achieved the renewal transformation and leaping development for the old mine.

    The safety boundary pillar is very important for safe production of underground mine which is transition from open-pit to underground mine,so it has to remain. Taken the Shirengou ore mine from open-pit to underground mining as an example,the safety boundary pillar at representative sections are calculated and analyzed by FLAC2D, including deformation and failure of boundary pillar during caving. Meanwhile,the failure process of the different sections is simulated. By simulation, the safety and danger section of the boundary pillar is predicted. It also will provide scientific proof and guidence for the design of ore mine from open-pit to underground mining.

    At present, there are many deficiencies of upward blasting holes charging in underground mines, such as, discontinuous charging, low efficiency, the high rate of explosive blown out from hole, low speed in transmission. To solve the above problems, the theory of upward blasting holes pneumatic charging with granular explosive is firstly studied. The air and explosive particles velocity in different locations by pneumatic transportation in the vertical pipe are analyzed. In addition, the pressure drop of explosive particles pneumatic transportation in the vertical pipe is put forward. According to the theoretic analysis, the field industry test was conducted, and the result of field test is similar to the result of the theoretic analysis.

    After the hematite ore from Bayan Obo was deoxidized, the samples were of complex mineral composition, course metallic iron grain and high content of residual carbon. Iron powder with a TFe grade 92.02%, a metallization rate 94.18% at an iron recovery 93.27% was obtained after combined flow sheet of magneticgravity separation followed by stage grinding-respective treatment of course and fine fractions. This powder can be used as steelmaking material. The tailings with a grade of rare earth  15.10%  at a recovery 97.18% can used as material for beneficiation of rare earth.

    Slime affects seriously on recovery of WO3 and molybdenum oxide from tailings. Experiment study indicates, indexes of containing WO3 7.49%, Mo 3.80%,recovery rate WO3 65.80%, Mo 67.15% in mixed concentrate could obtained under the premise of proper desliming and by adopting new-developed collector.

    Flotation effect of magnetite concentrate in Lan town of Shanxi by new type anionic collector MG2 at room temperature were investigated through reverse flotation experiment. Experiment result indicated, MG2  was a kind of good room temperature anionic collector. Good indexes of final concentrate grade 66.12%, recovery rate 95.30% were obtained in closed circuit experiment at 20℃.

    Ore properties of a tungsten and molybdenum ores in Anhui were analyzed briefly, principle processes of recovery of tungsten and molybdenum mineral were discussed, technological process of molybdenite and other sulphide ore preferential flotation and molybdenum and sulfur separation of mixed concentrate were made. Under the situation of grinding fineness -0.074mm account for 75.60%, Mo grade of molybdenum concentrates 40.64%, recovery rate 70.86% were obtained by adopting closed circuit process of one roughing, two regrade, one scavenging flotation of sulphur one roughing, five regrade, one scavenging separating molybdenum.

    Taken some mine as an engineering example, and based on the basis of examining the engineering geology environment, numerical analysis the stability of the waste dump by FLAC. Accumulation in the process dump, the maximum principal stress difference at dumping height with the increase of increasing regional rock and soil damage; reach the final row of the design altitude, soil and within the rock dump and soil within the shear generated gravity consolidation of plastic damage, destruction had the shear slip surface.

    In view of the frequently occurring of underground water inrush disasters, leading to the huge damage to the mining personals and property, the concept and various programs of the emergency water sump were proposed.The establishment of the water sump provides enough time for emergency treatment for underground mine, which can avoid the people drowned and trapped so as to ensure the safety of mines.

    Numerical simulation are made on shotcrete and bolt support of main deep tunnel of a coalmine by Ansys, the forces situation of the supporting structure and its supporting role has been discussed. It analyzed the distribution rules of the stress and displacement of the surrounding rock mass when the tunnel is supported. After mutual authentication with the field observations and experiment, the analysis result is proved to be practical.

    Based on the rock fracture process analysis (RFPA2D)system, it introduced rock creep evolution model, considered under the situation of constant loading, with the time changed, the longterm strength of rock caused the attenuation on strength and elastic modulus of roadway surrounding rock. Numerical result shows that, under the effect of horizontal stress, initial deformation damage and abscission layer occur to floor strata, cause vertical stress reduce and crack propagation occur on both sides and floor of roadway surrounding rock. Because of the creep characteristics of rock, value of strength and elasticity moduli of floor strata decrease continuously with the time increasing, horizontal stress begin transfer to deep rock of floor along the direction of floor strata, cause roadway floor strata bloating into roadway constantly under the effect of horizontal stress, floor strata reach to final damage depth.
