Experimental Study on Grinding and Separation of Copper-sulfur Mixed Concentrate with Tower Mill in a Concentrator

Abstract: In order to save energy, reduce consumption and improve copper recovery rate in a concen⁃ trator, aiming at the problems of high steel consumption and unsatisfactory grinding effect of ball mill in the regrinding section of copper-sulfur mixed concentrate, a comparative experimental study on the regrinding of copper-sulfur mixed concentrate was carried out by laboratory tower mill grinding, ceramic ball and steel ball as grinding medium. The results show that the combination of tower mill and ceramic ball can greatly reduce the energy consumption and the cost of grinding medium, improve the copper recovery rate, enhance the separation effect of copper and sulfur, improve the production efficiency of the concentrator, reduce the cost and improve the quality, and the economic benefit is remarkable.
