Abstract: In order to achieve the goal of energy saving and consumption reduction in a concentrator， the possibility of replacing steel ball with nano ceramic ball in the second stage grinding was explored through industrial tests. The results showed that replacing steel balls with nano ceramic balls in large pro⁃ portion can effectively reduce power consumption and ball consumption，and improve the processing capac⁃ ity of grinding system and grinding classification effect，without showing negative effects. The annual bene⁃ fit of saving electricity and ball is as high as 3.398 million yuan. Therefore，it is feasible to replace steel ball with ceramic ball as the main grinding medium in the second stage grinding，which provides a refer⁃ ence for other similar mines.
