Abstract: In order to realize the centralized management and decentralized control of the workshop equipment，improve the production efficiency and reduce the labor cost，aiming at the problem of whether the vertical mill of the main equipment of the cementitious material plant can be connected to the S7-1500 DCS，the structure of the vertical mill，the control principle of the hydraulic system，the control principle of the lubrication system，the control principle of the main motor system and the communication principle of Siemens PLC are studied. The automatic control system based on S7-1500PLC is obtained. Through the S7 communication between Siemens S7-1500PLC and vertical mill CPU Siemens S7-1200PLC，the remote control，condition monitoring，fault warning and other functions of vertical mill can be realized，which improves the production efficiency of vertical mill and reduces the labor cost.
