Abstract: In order to improve the comprehensive utilization rate of Bayan Obo Main East Mine re⁃ sources, aiming at the problems of long recovery process of rare earth flotation tailings, too many kinds of reagents, complex reagent system and poor stability of iron separation process in the original design process, the recovery of niobium from rare earth flotation tailings in the comprehensive utilization production line of oxidized ore resources was carried out.According to the difference of specific magnetization coefficient of different minerals,multi-stage magnetic separation operation and flotation-magnetic separation combined process are adopted to remove impurities and discard tailings step by step, and the impurity minerals affecting the separation of niobium minerals are removed to achieve the purpose of effectively enriching niobium minerals. By grinding the rare earth flotation tailings to -0.045 mm 90%,the niobium rough concentrate with niobium grade of 1.69% and niobium recovery of 28.57% can be obtained by using the process flow of mixed flotation-mixed tailings preconcentration-high gradient magnetic separation-high intensity magnetic cleaning separation, which lays a good foundation for the separation of high grade niobium concentrate.
Key words: mixed flotation, preselection, high gradient magnetic separation, high intensity magnetic separation, niobium rough concentrate
