Optimization of Process Parameters of Nickel Sulfate Sulfidation Roasting in Nickel Slag Based on Response Surface Method

Abstract: In order to improve the recovery efficiency of nickel sulfate from nickel-containing waste residue,the sulfidation roasting test of nickel sulfate was carried out by response surface method with pyrite as vulcanizing agent,and the interaction model between roasting temperature and sulfidation roasting effect of nickel sulfate was established. The results show that the roasting temperature and the ratio of raw materials have a significant effect on the roasting effect of nickel sulfate,and the interaction between roast⁃ ing time and the ratio of raw materials has the most significant effect on the roasting effect of nickel sul⁃ fate. The effect model of three factors on the content of nickel sulfide in nickel sulfate roasting product is  Y=-974.428 61+2.278 60X1+0.775 53X2+210.567 90X3-1.377 78×10-3X1X2-0.066 667X1X3+0.347 09X2X3- 1.422 86×10-3X12-3.393 02×10-3X22-59.982 36X32. The optimum process conditions of sulfidation roasting obtained by this model are as follows: roasting temperature 749.582 ℃,roasting time 35.862 min,ratio of ingredients 1.0:1.443. The average value of nickel sulfide content obtained by verification test is 45.20%, and the error between the predicted value of nickel sulfide content obtained by regression analysis is only 0.115%. The accuracy of the test model is high,which has guiding significance for the practical application of nickel sulfate vulcanization roasting process.
