Abstract: Slope stability is the key to determining the safe and efficient mining of open-pit mines, and study on the physical and mechanical properties of rocks is an important foundation for slope stability analysis. This study takes Yangjialing Limestone Mine as the engineering background, uses drilling core engineering geological logging method to complete rock engineering geological investigation and analysis, and evaluates the quality of slope rock mass using relevant specifications. The physical and mechanical properties of rocks were detained through on-site sampling testing and indoor experiments. Uniaxial com‐ pression tests and triaxial compression tests with different confining pressures were conducted based on geological data and rock mechanics parameters of mining rock engineering, and numerical simulation meth‐ ods were used to evaluate the stability of mining slopes. The research results indicate that the uniaxial and triaxial compressive strength, elastic modulus,Poisson's ratio, cohesion, and internal friction angle of dif‐ ferent rock formations are obtained through a series of rock mechanics experiments. Based on the limit equi‐ librium method, the mechanical response of the South No.2 Line slope is simulated, and the cloud maps of horizontal displacement and maximum principal stress of the mine are obtained. The minimum safety factor of the slope is 2.30,which is much higher than the allowable safety factor of the slope, and there is no risk of landslide.
