Experimental Research on Iron Removal and Titanium Reduction of Vanadium-Titanium Magnetite Concentrate in Chengde

Abstract: The iron concentrate of a vanadium-titanium magnetite contains 59% - 60% iron and about 8% titanium. The iron grade is relatively low and the titanium content is relatively high. The results of particle size analysis show that the finer the particle size,the higher the iron grade. In order to improve the iron grade of iron concentrate and reduce the titanium content,the gravity separation was first used for the exploration test. The results showed that the grade increase of iron concentrate was low,and the effect of titanium reduction by gravity separation test was not good. After that,grinding-magnetic re-separation test were used,when the grinding fineness is controlled at -0.074 mm 91.90%,an iron concentrate with iron grade of 61.11% and titanium grade of 7.05% can be obtained. It shows that grinding can improve the effect of iron increasing and titanium reduction,but it does not achieve the initial target. After grinding and elutriation conditions test,when the grinding fineness is controlled at -0.074 mm 85%,a better index of iron grade of 63.16% and titanium grade of 6.50% can be obtained. It shows that the elutriation machine has certain advantages on iron increasing and titanium reducing in the iron concentrate of vanadium-titani⁃ um magnetite.
