Abstract: In order to further clarify the formation mechanism of Dahongshan iron-copper deposit，the previous related results and the geological work results of this deposit are comprehensively analyzed. The analysis shows that: ①The genesis of Dahongshan iron-copper deposit belongs to submarine volcanic erup⁃ tion-transport deposition-metamorphic transformation deposit，which is strictly controlled by stratigraphic lithology，but its metallogenic form is quite different from that of ′in-situ deposition′ deposit near volcanic edifice. ②The Manganghe Formation and Hongshan Formation of Dahongshan Group in the mining area have significant metallogenic specificity. ③Manganghe period volcanic mineralization and Hongshan period volcanic mineralization are two different volcanic metallogenic systems. The Manganghe period is dominated by volcanic exhalation，and the ore-bearing lithology is a local geological unit controlled by volcanic institu⁃ tions. ′Dahongshan′ iron ore is produced inside and near the volcanic structure. The Hongshan period is dominated by central volcanic overflow，and the mineralization is strictly controlled by the intensity of volca⁃ nic activity and sedimentary environment.
