Abstract: The structure and mineral composition of an iron-copper deposit in Henan are both simple. The main minerals are magnetite and chalcopyrite, which are coarse grained. In order to determine the technological processing reasonability of low intensity magnetic separation of preferential copper flotation tailings by the closed-circuit process of two roughing, three cleaning, two scavenging, three kinds of iron separation ways have been tested including one roughing one cleaning low intensity magnetic separation for iron, low intensity magnetic cleaning separation using low intensity magnetic rough separation concentrate after grinding, one roughing one cleaning low intensity magnetic separation after grinding. The results showed that the ideal process is low intensity magnetic cleaning separation using low intensity magnetic rough separation concentrate after grinding. When the regrinding fineness reached 90% passing 0.074 mm, the iron concentrate is iron grade of 65.50% and recovery rate of 53.53% with the low intensity magnetic rough separation of 95.54 kA/m and the low intensity magnetic cleaning separation of 67.58 kA/m.
