Review on Evaluation Methods for Consistency of Particle Size Distribution Curve

Abstract: In the crushing of mineral processing,the particle size distribution curve has been widely used to characterize the crushing characteristics of ore. In order to complete research about curve consistency for particle size distribution curve in the different crushing condition,several methods such as distance formula,test formula and correlation coefficient are introduced to quantified the consistency degree between actual particle size distribution curve and theory particle size distribution curve. The advantages and disadvantages of each method are analyzed and compared,as well as the use feasibility in the particle size distri⁃ bution curve. In the distance formula,the least absolute deviation method is complex,but the results are intuitive and stable.The least squares method is simple but vulnerable to outliers. Fréchet distance quantifies the overall difference from the characteristics of the curve. In the test formula,K-S test makes up for the deficiency of chi-square test which is restricted by the number of samples,while A-D test increases the weight of the rear data on the basis of K-S test,which makes it more sensitive in the result analysis.
