Abstract: After analysis，the natural top-caving method is not feasible in the ore recovery of the west extension 10-12 line of I ore body in Huashugou mining area，and it is necessary to adopt the method of manual forced caving. Considering the factors such as production cost，safety，work management and comprehensive benefit，the technical and economic comparison of top-caving first and then mining method，centralized top-caving method and top-caving while mining method to explore the best top-caving scheme. The results show that the scheme of caving first and then stoping has high safety，simple stoping and caving management，and can release some ore in advance. This scheme is recommended. After the application of this scheme，12.455 2 million yuan of economic benefits will be generated.
