Abstract: To provide a theoretical basis for deep geological prospecting，this paper analyzes the geo⁃ logical characteristics of Daping phosphate ore，and makes a comparative study with the geological charac⁃ teristics of adjacent mining areas，and obtains the metallogenic law of the area where Daping phosphate ore is located.The results show that the Daping phosphate deposit is located in the west wing of the south⁃ ern section of Baiyan-Gaoping anticline，and it is a monoclinic structure. The ore beds are stratified and occur in the Lower Sinian Yangshui Formation. The strike extension of A layer of the main ore body in the mining area is greater than 3.75 km，and the inclined extension is greater than 1.01 km.According to the comparative study of geological characteristics between Daping phosphate ore and adjacent mining areas， it is found that the thickness of phosphorous rock series in the study area gradually decreases from east to west.The thickness of A and B layers also gradually decreases，and the B layer even appears the phenome⁃ non of pinching out. The comprehensive analysis shows that the north and east side of Daping phosphate rock and the blank area between Daping phosphate rock and Dawan phosphate rock have better prospect⁃ ing potential.
