Abstract: The contents of Cu and Fe in a copper smelting slag in Hubei are 2.11% and 40.07%,re⁃ spectively. The content of main impurity component SiO2 is 30.89%. Copper mainly exists in the form of cop⁃ per sulfide, and iron mainly exists in the form of magnetic iron. In order to recover copper and iron in the sample efficiently,an efficient and reasonable recovery process was studied. The results showed that under the condition of grinding fineness of -74 μm accounting for 85%,the copper concentrate with copper grade of 24.78% and recovery rate of 88.55% and the iron concentrate with iron grade of 64.12% and recovery rate of 82.52% can be obtained after twice low-intensity magnetic separation for flotation tailings treated by one roughing, one cleaning and one scavenging, and the medium ore are returned to the process in se⁃ quence. Adopting twice low-intensity magnetic separation, the iron concentrate with iron grade of 64.78% and recovery rate of 85.91%,and the copper concentrate with copper grade of 24.86% and recovery rate of 62.33% were obtained after one roughing, one cleaning and one scavenging the medium ore are returned to the process in sequence for the low-intensity magnetic separation tailings. The copper recovery rate of the pre-flotation and post-magnetic process is significantly higher,so it is an ideal recovery process for copper and iron.
