Abstract: In order to reduce the excess sulfur in iron concentrate,an experimental study on desul⁃ phurization of iron concentrate was carried out in view of the difficulty in separating iron and sulfur from iron concentrates in low intensity magnetic separation of high-sulfur lead-zinc flotation tailings in a certain place in Xinjiang. According to the symbiotic inlaid relationship between magnetite and pyrrhotite,the state and characteristics of sulfur-containing minerals,the magnetic-flotation combined process was used to flotate the coarse concentrate obtained by magnetic separation,adding TZ-n+TZ-c combination regula⁃ tor,using the interaction and synergistic effect of the combination agents,finally obtained a qualified iron concentrate with sulfur content of 0.14%,total iron grade of 65.42%,and iron recovery rate of 78.85%. The process successfully achieved the effective separation of iron and sulfur,reduced the sulfur content in the iron concentrate from more than 5% to less than 0.15%,improved the quality of the iron concentrate, reduced the cost of reagents by 1.9 million yuan/a,and achieved significant economic benefits.
