Preferential Flotation of West Orebody Copper Ore from Chambishi Mine

Abstract: The mineral types of west orebody copper ore from Chambishi mine are numerous,and the content of Cu,Fe,S and Al2O3 is 1.69%,3.94%,1.61% and 14.70%,respectively,which belongs to high aluminum complex refractory copper ore.In order to provide the basis for the flotation technology of the ore,flotation tests were conducted.A preferential flotation flow which copper sulphide ore was floated firstly followed by copper oxide ore flotation was used through flotation test.Sodium silicate,CaO,butyl xanthate and 2# oil was used as the dispersant,depressant,collector and frother,respectively,in copper sulfide flotation.Sodium sulfide and butyl xanthate combined with butylamine dithiophosphate was used as the activator and collector,respectively,to float the copper oxide from tailings of copper sulfide flotation.Then the mixture of the rough concentrate of the copper sulfide flotation and the copper oxide flotation was processed by three cleaning operations with closed flowsheet.The final concentrate was obtained with copper grade 22.75% and recovery 71.89%,and a tailings with copper grade 0.49%.
