Abstract: According to the low efficiency of the traditional jet and suction hydraulic hammer in the construction of near horizontal or upward hole in hard rock,according to the working principal of ordinary hydraulic hammer,a valve controlled double-action hydraulic hammer is designed.Based on the structural characteristics of hydraulic hammer and Newton's second law,the dynamic model of piston of hydraulic hammer is established.The M file of Matlab software is complied,and the starting performance of the piston of hydraulic hammer in the backstroke and stroke stages is simulated and analyzed.Φ89 mm hydraulic hammer prototype is developed,laboratory and downhole industrial test are done,the hydraulic hammer impact performance and design rationality are verified,which can provide an effective method for the construction of near-horizontal hole or upward hole in underground coal mine and hard rock stratum of tunnel.Besides that,it is found that the valve distribution element of hydraulic hammer is prone to scratch,deformation and other rapid wear problems,which provides a new direction for the reliability study of hydraulic hammer.
