Abstract: Manlonggou Gold Deposit in Southwest Yunnan Province is located in Xichou arch—concave of Wenshan—Fining folded belt,it belongs to the one that is mainly in close relations with unconformity surface of Caledonian.Based on the regional metalogenic geological background and geological working results of mining area, the geological characteristics of deposit are discussed, the metallgenic law is summarized, besides that, the prospecting direction of the mining area is studied based on the ground engineering verification results and pit drilling engineering verification results. The research results show that:①the ore—guiding structures and ore—hosting structures in the mining area are well developed and characterized by multilevel, consistency and inheritance, and the occurrence and spatial distribution is strictly controlled by Dabao gliding—nappe, the SN—trending fractures and NWW—trending fracture have close relationship with gold mineralization;②the mineralization of Manlonggou Deposit is strictly controlled by tectonic activity, which characterized by strata—bound type,it belongs to the one that carlin—type hydrothermal deposit in Southeast Yunnan Province;③the strong wall—rock alteration (silicification, pyritized and arsenopuritization) and unconformity surface are the favorable prospecting criterias, and the gold ore seam which exposed by surface of gliding—nappe can be ragarded as the favorable position of rich gold orebodies.
