Abstract: Systematic mineralogy research was carried out on a deep vanadium-titanium magnetic ore from west Panzhihua, which revealed its mineral composition, distribution characteristics of main minerals and difficulties to liberate of valuable minerals, and provided reference for beneficiation process selection and rational exploitation and utilization of these resources. High quality iron concentrate with iron grade of 58.11%, iron recovery of 57.65% could received by two stages of grinding-three stages of magnetic separation process, while the mesh of grinding should reach 86% passing -0.030 mm. It’s not suitable for the production of high quality iron concentrate for current technical conditions, as non-economical.
