Abstract: After the initial mining, Xiangbishan open-pit slope has formed a near 50°high and steep slope. If it continues to mining, it is necesary to calculate its stability so as to ensure the safety of production. According to the terrain and lithologic features, two typical geologic sections in the south side of Xiangbishan are selected, and the slope stability under different conditions is analyzed by using the Geo-slope software. The research results indicated that, the values of slope safety coefficient under different conditions were larger than the critical value 1.1, which means that the entire slope is stable after the expansion.
