Abstract: The tailing reservoir is one of the worst hazards influencing mine production and safety. According to the current situation of tailing reservoirs in China, the identification of risk factor, the division of tailing reservoirs in our country, stability analysis and development, utilization and reclamation of tailing ponds are summarized in detail. Ten, the major problems of tailing reservoirs which China is facing, such as design and safety assessment are analyzed in detail. Finally, some relative suggestions and consideration on improving tailings reservoirs' database, adopting the dry stockpiling are put forward.
