Abstract: Method of numerical simulation of open-pit mine slope was introduced, on the basis of strength reduction theory, stability condition of slope in south open-pit mine was simulated through establishment of geological model and using RFPA two dimension software. The related simulation results indicate that slip range of slope is extend from top of slope along the fracture zone, mudstone with coal seam and unconformity-oriented. Landslip gradually breaks away from deep surface of unconformity and moves along with the weak surface, and emerges shear failure which force direction is vertical to slope direction, eventually sliding failure which run-through bottom of the slope formed.
