Abstract: Reduce the content of SiO₂ in iron ore concentrate become a necessity for Meishan iron ore, in order to well meet the smelting requirements of iron ore quality. Study was conducted with positive flotation and fine sieve-regrinding and strong magnetic process separately. The results showed that: both of the two process could ruduce the content of SiO₂ to 4% in total concentrate, though recovery rate was lower, but the alkali ratio significantly increased, and the self-fluxing quality become better. Laboratory and industrial tests was suggested to continue, in order to provide reference basis for on-site process.
