Abstract: Under the condition of China's booming iron & steel industry, the development characteristics of domestic iron ore mining industry was analyzed. As demand continues to increase, resource reserve increased owing to the huge exploration investment. Although the total capacity reached record high due to the new mines construction were accelerated，the production can not satisfy the increasing demand of the market. With the development of China's iron ore industry, mining and beneficiation technology improved greatly, mining efficiency and concentrate quality improved. Large, high efficiency and automatic equipment were widely used, and complicated iron ore began to utilize gradually.
