Abstract: In order to promote the high-quality development of mineral resources in Hubei Province and provide support for the transformation of resource-based industries and the coordinated development of regional economy，in view of the problems existing in the exploration and development of mineral resources in Hubei Province，such as the decline of exploration investment，the imbalance of industrial structure， the prominent contradiction between supply and demand，and the tightening of ecological constraints， based on the data of 2024，this paper systematically sorts out the general situation，development and utili⁃ zation status and supply and demand situation of mineral resources，deeply analyzes the core challenges and puts forward the strategic path.The results show that the advantages of mineral resources endowment in Hubei Province are prominent but the structural contradictions are significant. The mining economy is grow⁃ ing steadily but the industrial level is low. The supply and demand pattern is obviously differentiated and the shortage and surplus coexist. It is necessary to build a modern resource-based industrial system by strengthening the exploration investment guarantee，optimizing the industrial structure layout，coordinat⁃ ing the supply and demand balance regulation，and strengthening the ecological protection constraints，so as to help the economic rise of the central region.
