    Advantages and disadvantages of ore quantity estimation of traditional section average method were analyzed, and the necessity of ore quantity estimation by using 3D mining software was pointed out. 3D geology ore quantity estimation theory and engineering control degree classifying method based on block model and searching ellipsoid were studied, and this method was applied in the reserves valuation of a copper resource successfully. Application results prove that the rationality and feasibility on resources reserves estimation and classification by using this method in resources evaluation.

    Basis on the deep understanding of the characteristics of caving mining method and backfilling mining method, according to the principle of consistency, testability and scientific, seven evaluation indexes which affect the feasibility of caving mining method converting to backfill mining method were selected, hierarchy evaluation model was constructed. Index weight was calculated through combination weighting approach of subjective and objective evaluation method of analytic hierarchy process and entropy method combination.

    Distribution of seepage field and stress field of orebody and tunnel were analyzed by using thermal analysis module of ANSYS to compare seepage field. The numerical results show that the values of stress field would increase if the effect of seepage field was considered for ores; for the tunnel. The maximum stress regions appeared on the both sides of the tunnel. So the failure of tunnel often occurs in the two shoulders and two bottom corners of the tunnel at the beginning.

    When relative humidity of surface of surrounding rock mass is higher than that of internal surrounding rock mass, the humidity gradient between two zones is seen as a driving force which can make water diffuse into low humidity zone, while mechanical properties of surrounding rock mass is weaken. Surrounding rock mass is in a new humidity condition when underground cavern is excavating, which will change mechanical properties. Numerical simulation was done on humidity diffusion of rectangular coal tunnel by RFPA humidity diffusion edition. Disturbance status of stress field in rectangular coal tunnel rock affected by humidity diffusion and displacement situation with time passing of tunnel inner wall because of the humidity diffusion effect was obtained. The forming, development process and failure pattern of surrounding rock mass in humidity diffusion of tunnel of different stratum distribution were simulated.

    The contrast tests on magnetite powder for coal preparation of Tunlan coal preparation plant by adopting the cyclone and the cyclone gravity column with different cone angle are carried out. The test results show that with the cone angle of the water cyclone bottom in singlecone structure increasing, total iron grade of the coarse underflow products is increased, and its SiO2 content is decreased. For the coarse magnetite powder, the effect of iron increase and silicon reduction by the cyclone gravity column in complex structure is better than that by water medium cyclone at single cone angle of 120°.

    The investigation on ore nature, flotation process, beneficiation equipment, industrial tests for Jinduicheng molybdenum ore provides a reliable basis for the new process design and industrialscale production of 57% molybdenum concentrate. The molybdenum concentrate grading at 57% with recovery rate of not less than that by the original flotation process was successfully achieved in industrial production by adopting the concentration offdrugs, the grinding and scouring, and the flotation column concentration. This new process has been applied into two concentration systems of the dressing plant with an annual 9000 tons of production capacity and molybdenum concentrate grade of 57%. It can provide highquality raw materials for high melting molybdenum oxide roasting process and acidfree lowtemperature ammonia leaching process of ammonium molybdate, thus increasing the technological level of molybdenum industry.

    Through analyzing the ore properties of high phosphorus oolitic hematite in western Hubei, the current research results on the processes of iron increase and impurity reduction for high phosphorus oolitic hematite in China are summarized, such as the conventional beneficiation, flash magnetic roasting, direct reduction roasting and microbial phosphorus removal, etc. And the prospects on research direction of beneficiation for such ores are made.

    Based on the investigation data of a mining area, a distance discriminant model of stability prediction of goaf was established. Some main factors which influence goaf were selected as discrimination factor, then it took measured sample as training samples, discriminantwaiting sample was classified by establish corresponding linear discriminant function. Study result indicates that distance discriminant analysis model is an effective method of goaf prediction which could be used in practical engineering.
