Abstract: The Tongling area is located in the middle section of the copper-gold-sulfur-iron mineral‐ ization belt in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. In recent years, several mineral deposits have been discovered in the Tongling mining area, including the Shujiadian copper-gold deposit,Yangli‐ chong gold deposit,Hamaling copper-gold-molybdenum deposit,Dilongchong gold deposit, and Mao‐ zhuyuan gold deposit. These deposits are located in the Shujiadian anticline and Yongcunqiao anticline, and the ore bodies are hosted in the contact zone between the Silurian sandstone and shale and the diorite-like rock mass and its vicinity. Moreover, several gold polymetallic ore bodies have been found in the deep part of the Hamaling copper-gold-molybdenum deposit at the interface between the Ordovician and Silurian stra‐ ta,which indicates that the Indosiperiod tectonic position,Yanshan period magmatic activity, and the Silu‐ rian sandstone area in the mining area have great potential for gold mineral exploration. The Xifengjian area in Qingyang County is located on the southwestern edge of the Tongling mining area, and the mineralization position is favorable. Based on the geological exploration work and previous research results, this paper com‐ prehensively analyzes the geological conditions for mineralization and concludes that the Xifengjian area has good potential for hydrothermal vein-type and skarn-type gold polymetallic mineral exploration, and it is ex‐ pected to discover gold polymetallic deposits of a certain scale.
