In order to solve the problems of difficult development and utilization of quartz sand in arid and water-deficient areas,large investment in wet magnetic separation and high production cost,a new magnetic system is designed by using COMSOL MULTIPHYSIC multi-physical field simulation software to simulate the magnetic system characteristics such as magnetic system arrangement and magnetic field gradi⁃ ent.The contradiction between the cylinder heating and the performance of the magnetic block is solved by selecting the high temperature resistant rare earth material magnet steel. The magnetic field strength of the SGTF powder dry permanent magnet magnetic separator can reach 597 kA/m,and the maximum processing capacity is 250 t/ h.In the industrial application of a concentrator in Henan Province,the iron content of quartz sand can be reduced to 0.06% after one separation by SGTF powder dry permanent magnet magnetic separator,which meets the use standard as a raw material for glass production.The research results show that the magnetic field strength and processing capacity of the new powder dry permanent magnet magnetic separator have been improved,the application effect in non-metallic iron removal has been improved,the production process has been reduced,and the beneficiation cost has been reduced. It can provide a new so⁃ lution for the economic development of quartz sand ore in arid water shortage and northern cold regions.
