In order to study the influence of penetrating faults on the stability of the end slope of an open-pit mine and ensure the safe production of the mine, the stability state of the end slope of the open-pit mine under the influence of penetrating faults is studied by means of field investigation of fault occurrence information, stereographic projection method, limit equilibrium method and numerical simulation. The re⁃ sults show that the existence of faults controls the potential failure mode of the end slope in this area, and the upper part of the sliding surface will develop along the fault plane. The fault increases the stress relax⁃ ation effect after slope excavation, and a small range of tensile stress area appears at the top of the slope, which may cause tensile failure. The maximum displacement value of the slope appears in the fault affected area, and the additional load of blasting makes the displacement show an increasing trend. The side blasting should be strictly controlled to avoid slope instability.
