Abstract: The mid-segment of the Greater Khingan is a very prominent copper polymetallic metallo⁃ genic belt in China. In order to provide guidance for the prospecting prediction study in this region,a total of 388 single element anomalies and 40 combined anomalies are identified, through 1∶50 000 soil geo⁃ chemical survey in the Zhalaite Banner area of Inner Mongolia that selected as the mineral exploration area. In which, key combination anomalies are checked, and 4 ore(mineralization)occurrences are discovered in the exploration area.A general exploration is carried out on the Dengjitun copper ore occurrence.Total 171 copper ore(mineralized)bodies are found, with copper grades mainly ranging from 0.2% to 1.0%.Ac⁃ cording to its ore characteristics and zoning features of mineralization alteration,it is concluded that this deposit has the genetic characteristics of porphyry copper deposits. And the mineral exploration direction is pointed out for next stage in the working area.Due to the factors such as geochemical characteristics and metallogenic geological conditions, the exploration area is divided into two metallogenic prospective areas in grade I and one metallogenic prospective area in grade II,as well as four prospecting target areas are de⁃ termined in these metallogenic prospective areas, which lays the foundation for the regional mineral explo⁃ ration.
