Abstract: There are abundant diopside deposits in the southeast of Mengshan，Jiangxi.By collecting the first-hand field geological data of a large-scale diopside ore quarry in southeast of mengshan，the geo⁃ logical characteristics of diopside deposit in southeast of mengshan are summarized，and the genesis of di⁃ opside deposit is discussed. The study shows that there are two layers of diopside ore bodies in the south⁃ eastern part of Mengshan，which are located in the outer contact zone of limestone and granite in the Mid⁃ dle Permian Qixia Formation 100~200 m.The source of diopside ore-forming materials is the silicon-calci⁃ um-magnesium component of the Qixia Formation itself，and the heat source is the Mengshan composite rock mass of the Indosinian period. All kinds of cracks formed by the regional sliding structure system are conducive to the timely discharge of H₂O and CO₂.The comprehensive action of various favorable factors forms a large diopside deposit in the area. The genesis of the deposit is a contact thermal metamorphic de⁃ posit.
