Abstract: In terms of engineering design work, the dry stockpiling tailings dam stability is analyzed only by considering the running state of the slopes, without considering the rainfall factors. The pore pressure and stress are not analyzed by adopting the coupling theory under the condition of rainfall. The soil constitutive equation, seepage equation, soil mass balance equation and unsaturated soil pore pressure and stress coupling theory are adopted to analyze the influence of coupling of pore pressure and stress to the stability of the dry stockpiling tailings dam. The research results show that, the smaller stability coefficients are acquired by not considering the pore pressure and stress coupling, besides that, the coefficients are good to guarantee the safety of tailing dam.
