Abstract: With the development of construction of the international shipping center of Yangshan port, more and more iron ores are imported through container transportation, which is a new kind of transport mode for marine transport of iron ore.Advantages of imported iron ore by containerized transport with traditional bulk ship transport are compared, and the causes of this phenomenon are analyzed.The existing problems in imported iron ore by containerized transport in current conditions are pointed out, and it also give some suggestions of develop waterway-waterway transit for container transport iron ore and strengthen the supervision of import iron ore by container are proposed.
