Abstract: Coal mining leads to land subsidence and arable land damage. Land reclamation is an important measure for arable land restoration. To study and assess the variability in fertility of reclaimed soil is of great significance to direct the reclamation and reutilization of mining subsided land. The variability of fertility of reclamation soil in Zhangji coal mining area located at Huainan city were studied. The results showed that: the contents of organic matter, total nitrogen, Olsen-phosphorus and available K increased with the extension of time, while the soil fertility reduced with the depth of reclamation soil increasing. Took the soil fertility level of normal arable land as assessment standards, the fertility restoration index of reclamation soil indicated an upward trend with time extending.
