Abstract: Ionic rare earth ore is a mineral resource with unique characteristics in China and rare worldwide. Currently,in-situ leaching method is mainly used for the mining of ionic rare earth ore. Howev⁃ er,during the mining process, the rare earth ore body is eroded by the leaching solution for a long time, which causes continuous deterioration of its mechanical properties and thus leads to landslide disasters. Fo⁃ cusing on the mechanical characteristics of the in-situ leaching method, this study analyzes and summarizes the stress-strain behavior, deformation characteristics, evolution characteristics of mechanical strength of the ionic rare earth ore body,as well as the ore body constitutive model. Research results show that existing research results lack attention to the micromechanical properties of the ore body, the seepage erosion effect of the leaching solution, and its coupling effect with chemical erosion. The stress-strain constitutive model of the ore body still cannot fully describe the mechanical behavior of the ore body during the in-situ leaching process. To further explore the macro-micro mechanical responses of the rare earth ore body, efforts should be made to strengthen research on the numerical simulation method of the ore body, the constitutive model, and the coupling effect between seepage erosion and chemical erosion.
