Abstract: Mineral resource conservation is the core strategy to deal with the contradiction between limited resources and ecological protection. Based on the theoretical framework of "six dimensional mine", the core position and link role of resource conservation in mine construction is systematically expounded, and resource conservation running through multiple dimensions such as intrinsic safety,environmental har‐ mony,intelligent operation,economic benefits and social identity is emphasized. In the face of the coexis‐ tence of continuous growth of mineral resources consumption and waste of resources in China,it is proposed from a strategic perspective that the efficiency of resource utilization should be improved through the combi‐ nation of opening up sources and reducing consumption,technological innovation and management optimiza‐ tion. Combined with the practice of Sinosteel Mining Industry,the specific path and effect of promoting the construction of resource-saving mines are summarized from four aspects: forming a consensus on resource conservation and exploring optimization measures; strengthening the system construction and improving the policy guarantee system; comprehensive utilization of resources,the construction of tailless waste-free mine; strengthening scientific and technological innovation and ensuring investment in scientific and techno‐ logical research and development. Using this system,through technological innovation,management optimi‐ zation and policy coordination,the efficiency of resource utilization can be significantly improved,which provides theoretical reference and practical reference for resource conservation and sustainable development of mining enterprises.
