Abstract: The grade of gold and carbon of a gold ore containing carbon in Indonesia is 12.92 g/t and 1.74%,respectively. The carbon mainly exists in the form of carbonate, followed by graphitic carbon and or‐ ganic carbon. In order to realize efficiency utilization of the gold ore, based on the detailed research of pro‐ cess mineralogy, direct cyanide leaching, gravity separation tests and flotation tests were carried out. The re‐ search results show that due to the high carbon content, with the increase of grinding fineness and the leach‐ ing time, direct cyanidation can hardly leachate gold. By adopting the combined process of gravity separa‐ tion and flotation, under the condition that the grinding fineness of -0.074 mm accounts for 65%,via one stage shaking table gravity separation, gravity separation concentrate with gold grade of 7 902.05 g/t and gold recovery rate of 30.60% can be obtained. Using butyl ammonium aerofloat and butyl xanthate as collec‐ tor,2# oil as frother, through the flotation process of one roughing, two cleaning and two scavenging, the flo‐ tation concentrate with gold grade of 85.59 g/t and gold recovery of 64.58% is obtained. The total gold recov‐ ery reaches 95.18%.
