Wangu mining area is an important deposit in the gold metallogenic belt of northeast Hu⁃ nan. The different sizes of faults and faults strictly control the ore body shape and occurrence position of each vein in the mining area.In the past,the research on the faults in the mining area was mostly concentrat⁃ ed on the NW-trending ore-bearing faults,while the research on the NE-trending F8 fault as the ore-con⁃ trolling structure in the mining area was insufficient.In order to further explore the influence of F8 fault on the metallogenic structure of the mining area,starting from the unknown fault in the underground -380 m middle section project,the geometric model and data comparison method are used to verify that the fault is the extension of the surface F8 fault in the underground part.The study shows that the F8 fault may be a right-lateral reverse fault,and it is formed in the same period as the northeast-trending fault around it, which together acts as the ore-controlling structure formed by the ore veins in the mining area.The hanging wall traction fold is affected by the fault structure and can often form joint veins.The research is of great help to improve the resource reserves of the mining area and improve the prospecting efficiency.
